Fallout 3: When i return to GNR after putting the satellite on Washington monument the doors are locked.

when i buzz the intercom the guy says 'quit buzzing will ya, the doors open' but it remains locked and i can't get in to talk to three dog. Anyone else had a similar problem?

I don't normally recommend using cheats, but instead of starting over, try this. Hit the tilde key (~) and then type this cheat code in: movetoqt

This should move you to the next quest target and if it's in the building then you'll bypass the doors and go straight there. Save before you go though.

Walk along the front of the building until you see the rubble. Climb that and jump into the second floor balcony. You can pick that lock as long as your skill is high enough.

The very first time I walked into GNR I did not even have the quest, that's how I got inside :-)
