Dated visuals and super-hardcore gameplay make it a tough sell. I understand that Counter-Strike has dedicated fans but I think there's only so many of them, and they'd probably rather play on the PC with a keyboard and mouse anyway.

1. Bad image brought from teenagers shooting at people as with Grand Theft Auto.
2. The game requires a high level of communication and user skill, better suited for the PC; playing online with inexperienced kids ruins it.
3. It was pretty good on the Xbox, but not popular.

Xbox 360 doesn't come out with games, the studios do. If none of the studios thinks the game can sell, they won't touch it even if it is the coolest thing ever.

Counter strike is passed its prime, Valve believes it wouldn't sell on the system.

I'm surprised no one brought up the existence of Call Of Duty.

That is the reason. Call Of Duty is an excellent game, and so are its future versions through the version "World At War".
