The best gun available in the first few levels is the MP4. Level up this gun and you will be set: use it with the glass sight

I've found myself using the trench gun and the sawed off. Both pack a VERY powerful punch. The best thing is to find a weapon and stick with it until you've master it, then move on. It its always a great idea to carry one that has both range for sniping and stopping power, for that I usually choose the bar.
