Is there a way to play the campaign as a zombie and try kill the survivors? Being a zombie is too much fun.

No you can't. You may only play as the infected in Multiplayer mode on the 360. On the PC version theres a fan-made patch that lets you play as the infected in Singleplayer.
Source(s):
Start a single player game, and type "ent_fire !self setteam 3", then "director_force_versus_start".

Then get everyone on your team, self included, killed. It should go to the versus score screen, believe it or not, and start the game on the same level with you as an infected. Note that the level will not be the versus version, so some buildings will have invisible rooftops.

If this doesn't work, you might have to disable AI bots with a console command.

Nope. The only way to play as a zombie is in multiplayer.

Sadly, no. Maybe in future patches is there's enough request for it...The closest thing you'll get is going into an online Versus match and purposely causing your team to die. Of course, this is going to make them all completely despise you, but hey, it's all in the name of good fun. Kidding, of course.

But yeah, versus is all we have so far.
