The game starts with the friend abilities unlocked. One brings you a replacement bike, one brings weapons, etc.
The percentages that you see is because as the game progresses, your friends gain skill. If one of your buddies dies, you get a new buddy at a much lower skill, so it is in your best interest to keep them all alive.

In GTA IV: The Lost and Damned, are their "friend abilities" that you can unlock just like in regular GTA IV?
In Grand Theft Auto IV, after getting Packie, Dwayne or any of other friend characters to like you beyond 75%, they unlocked specific bonuses. Packie would come to your aid with a helicopter, for instance.
Is this how it works in Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned? I see that each of your friends have a "like %" in the stats menu, but do you unlock anything like in Grand Theft Auto IV. If so, what?

I found this thread on GameFAQs about the same thing. And yeah, it looks like your biker friends all have their abilities from the start of the game. http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=955085&topic=48207666

Thanks for the response. I see what you mean about their "skill" level. However, in the stats screen each of the friends also have a "Like 20%" rating. Which I'm assuming can be raised by making them like you more (Like in GTA IV). What I'm wondering is if that's to any particular end. Do you unlock something for that?
