I guess it all depends on what I am writing, and what for.... If I am journaling or writing a snail mail letter to an old friend, I use a nice fountain pen and a really good quality paper or journal. If I am jotting down a shopping list or some such thing I usually have gel pens lying around. If I am blogging or emailing, obviously a computer, (laptop). Mostly though, if I am writing anything I try to be at a reasonable facsimile of a desk, nice and quiet spot with mild, indirect lighting.

I write on my mac laptop, though I have written a couple short stories longhand with a pen. Writing with a pen is interesting because it makes you slow down a little. I always find that I've skipped over more words when I write by hand.
