At first glance this seemed like a simple question. I was prepared to answer from what I knew, but just to be sure I decided to dig in a bit, and the more I dug in, the less sure I became.

If my understanding of what I've read about Indian history is correct, then, in a nutshell... it's never going to be a super-power. Not the way it is. Not in the way as understood by the west and by east Asia.

It's so complex I don't where to begin, which means I'm going to have to throw it all out in parts, and trust the readers to sort it out.

Where to begin...

India is vastly more ancient than you think. People think that Australian Aborigines plus a few tiny tribes hidden in the interior of the Philippines are the worlds most ancient people, but in fact, in the north to north-west parts of India are people of a genetic style going back 70,000 years... all the way back to the time of the Australian Aborigines.

It means that some ancient people were able to find a place to settle down and hold on regardless of how the world was changing around them.

In a crazy sense, it's like how evolution stopped the development of plants.

If one studies the DNA of plants versus animals, one finds that plant-cells are in fact vastly superior in genetic organization to animal cells, such that plants could stop evolving at the point where they were multi-cellular and capable of reaching up as trees toward the sun to eat light, whereas non-photosynthetic animal cells had to keep bumbling around as beasts eating plant cells in order to survive, leading to us.

How embarrassing., and it's one of those mysteries that Heavenly Father is withholding until we can get it. It might have something to do with answering the question Moses asked from whence He came, but we shall not fret ourselves about something we cannot answer now, so much as we'd like to...

In a nutshell, it's possible that in their way, Indians have sorted out through millenia a way to be peaceful with each other in order to live and love and have kids that they feel no need to build global empire.

It's said that people in Bombay (yeah I know it's now called Mumbai, but half the south-Asians I've talked to still prefer Bombay) can walk out onto a street and see everything from the poorest beggars to the richest forms of super-wealth, and they have establish a form of manners to coexist.

It is a place so self-sufficient in food that insolong as people can eat, nobody's going to bug each other.

It is self-sufficient in food because it is rich land on the equator, and yes they've had some famines (which the US bailed them out of in the 60's) but they always used to have famines.

I means they won't feel a need to reach out as a global super-power. It means they will feel a need to defend themselves.

Some will want to leave... just like how some want to leave China and Japan... just like how some wanted to leave Europe in order to think with logic outside the gum-holes hammered down by their stupid tyrannies, but most are happy as long as they can eat within the status-quo.

So... as long as India can feed itself, history indicates it has zero motivation to become a super-power.

What is a super-power?

Something with super-consumption? A super-pig?

Super-power is a super-pig capable of hitting back if anyone has a problem with it.

Yes we know that the USA is the quintessential modern super-pig capable of hitting back, but who else?

Hmm... there's France, well rich enough with trade to its former colonies and able to enforce its nuclear position... although it's getting bitten with riots by being too nice to immigrants and should just do some economic reconstruction of north-Africa and send those bratty little rebels back to build up a proper north-African civilization of their own.

Hmm... there's Britain... which built up an empire spanning 1/4rth the surface area of the land-surface... and...

Oooh... it was all paid for by its occupation of India.

Yes ladies and gentlemen, India was Britain's only profitable colony. All the rest of the British Empire was paid for by profits drawn from India. Is India a rich place?!?

Yet England was able to do that with only 300,000 Brits living there... against hundreds of millions of others. All England had to do was set them against each other, and from that, Britain got a gold-mine to build an empire.

My head swims, so I'm going to try to explicit.

Imagine you have some cottage cheeze that cannot be glumped into a brick of cheeze. Imagine you have a sub-planet where if they had a world of their own they'd spread out to form 200 nations, each and every one of which is competitive with the other.

Imagine you're Chinese with only four subcultures, compared to India with over 200 subcultures, all of whom speak a different language and/or dialect, all of whom are taught to hate each other just for something to do, the same way Serbs are taught to hate Croats in Jugoslavia even though they don't really... they just need something to do with their boring lives.

Imagine you're China knowing how to show the world that it can deliver a nuke anywhere by doing a planet-circling space-astronautic flight over the world in order to properly and quite politely say it can deliver a nuke anywhere while India is still hell-bent on making sure with its missiles that 'stanis are not getting in.

The nut-shell is that India has the resource and potential to be a super-power, but it's just so darn'd at peace with its ability to support itself with the dimmest that Indians seeing higher ways go nuts and scream to be allowed to move to the new world.

It is able to feed itself well enough that the women with their interest in kids allow their guys to be idiots.

A solution would be to have a pipeline to another planet where they get to spread out and form 200 nations.

As it is, they have to settle on English as their only common language.

On the other hand, like the Hellenic's of ancient Greece, they'd identify with each other yet target all outsiders as... outsiders.

The answer is... they are not going to become a superpower.

Tragic. Such a lack of heartfelt leadership.

They think they've got the telephone answering system going, but in fact that's being moved to the Philippines, because Philippines don't' have that @#$%ing annoying accent.

The answer is... hmm... India is so self-introspective that it is on top of one of the richest parts of the planet, and it's in charge of jerks.

That's what happened to Argentina.

At the turn of the 19th century Argentina was the most advanced nation in the new world. They were the first ones to figure out how to use finger prints.

Then they got hung up with same selfish "I am the king of my vineyard" thing that collapse all previous civilizations, so if you hear about Warren Betty giving up 99% of his wealth so he only has 500,000 million to live on, I recommend putting up a guard, and let's work on the agriculture.

The answer is... south-Asians are so weird that east-Asians might have to hire some north Americans as consultants.

The result will be... if south-Asians can be given some security in old age they'll have less kids.

Less kids means more resources to trade.

Yes I know how Chinese hate south-Asians, and visa versa.

I happen to be living in a part of the world with both the biggest south-Asian and east-Asian's outside their native territory.

East Asians are *way* more logical to do business with. I didn't say easier. Their a******s are as big as while a******s.

F**king south-Asians on the other hand like irrational brats.

The solution is... we find a solar system wherein there are two planets. We transport India to one, and Pakistan to the other, and they get to hate each other.

India by and large is endowed with untapped abundant resources, with its strategic locations straddling the continent of Asia and the growing prominence of the Middle East. A nation with unique multicultural and religious denomination, I can only say that this sub-continent country can become a Superpower economy by 2020.

First, we set our sights to the Energy sector specifically India's biofuel industry. It is an established fact that the country is the "world's seventh largest energy producer, accounting for about 2.49% of the world's total annual energy production." In this regard, the need for an alternative energy source is equally important in making India a superpower status by the year 2020. I have no doubt, this sector will play a vital role in the India's energy future, with the recent approval of National Biofuel Policy by the Indian government. This national policy establishes targets, specific definition of biofuel, the raw materials to be used, balanced land use policy with regards to food security and energy security, establishment of marketing and purchasing mechanism, financial incentives, research & development and quality control & assessment. With this policy in place, biofuel would indeed be one of the pillars of the energy sector.

As far as nuclear energy is concerned, India is considered to be in league with other established nuclear powers in the world. With their proven knowledge in nuclear power, India can move forward by harnessing this power by re-channeling nuclear know-how and thereby contributing to reduce gas emissions in the world, improve air quality around India and provide much needed energy to fuels its rapidly expanding economy.

In the field of alternative energy, India has committed to "increasing solar power generation, improving energy efficiency and enhancing carbon sinks as a route to "greener growth" and "laid out an ambitious plan to generate 20GW of solar power by 2020, which could equate to 75% of the world's solar energy." This commitment by the country lays emphasis on the global role of India in reducing carbon emissions by 2020, which in turn will make India a green economy.

Let us now look at India's education specifically in the field of engineering and science, the best way to hone the skills of nations greatest resource is to allocate the required investments in education, with the two fields at the top of the list. One of vital foundations of super power economy is backed by engineering and science. Take the case of Japan, it is considered one of the leading nations in the field of science and engineering. The government's policy must be "predicated on the belief that human resources are the most
important determinant of overall development."

We now move forward to the transportation industry, in a super power economy, an efficient transportation is one of the most vital ingredient to keep the economy forward. One way of doing this is to modernize India's railway transport that is at par with the railway network of Europe. In order to have an efficient railway, the government must encourage high level of private involvement coupled with government support. Another area in transportation that needs further attention is the road conditions, wherein it needs the badly needed massive rehabilitation and expansion to reach out the rural sector of the economy, in other words the "trickle down effect." By 2020, if transportation efficiency is established, there is no inkling that the people will be the most benefited in the economic growth of the country.

Let us now take the case of production, the role it will play, in order for India to become a super power economy. In the area of steel production, the best way to move forward for India is to establish a government approved National Steel Policy which could "envisaged steel production to reach 110 million tonnes by 2019-20. Further, based on the status of MOUs signed by the private producers with the various State Governments, it is expected that India’s steel capacity would be nearly 293 million tonne by 2020." At this point, India would be considered one of the leading steel producers around the world. But in order to achieve this the steel industry must be exposed to private investment "by (a) removing it from the list of industries reserved for public sector and (b) exempting it from compulsory licensing. Imports of foreign technology as well as foreign direct investment are freely permitted up to certain limits under an automatic route.

With the foundation in place in the steel industry, it necessary follows that more products will be produced, infrastructure support will be enhanced specially to the service sector focusing on the business process outsourcing, and more efficient electric grid transmission lines. "As per the ratings of the prestigious " World Steel Dynamics", Indian HR Products are classified in the Tier II category quality products – a major reason behind their acceptance in the world market. EU, Japan have qualified for the top slot, while countries like South Korea, USA share the same class as India."

As far as flat and long steel product consumption is concerned, in countries like India compared with a 1st world country the United States, my observation on this is that, the U.S. has used flat and and long steel as vital tool in its stimulus measures with regards to more fund support to major infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, airports, and railways, whereas "growth of the steel industry in India is also dependent, to a large extent, on the level of consumption of steel in the domestic market. Steel consumption is significant in housing and infrastructure."

Let me conclude this piece by saying that with right policies in place in the areas of energy, education, transportation, and production, India will truly be a super power economy in the next 10 years.

While in 2005 India passed a "Offenses against Children Bill" after the slaughter of 30 children in the outskirts of Delhi, children are still exploited and neglected and rarely is the abuse registered as an offense.

A scam runs rampant throughout Asia in which the family is told there is work for the child in another town. Papers of employment are exchanged and the child is taken, beaten and forced to work in sweat shops or sex dens. They work for nothing for they are slaves, not employees. In the city of Meerut children work 10-15 hour days stitching soccer balls for possibly American companies. They worked for pennies or no money.

The future of any nation is their children, their education and their basic civil rights. When a nation denies, ignores or neglects the rights of kids, the entire world can scream foul, but unless there is an uprising from within, unless children are seen more than commodities, in 2020 India will be where it is and was ten years ago as a nation whose economic growth and international respect stagnant and whose little ones suffer on a daily basis and no one hears their screams at night enough to make a change in that country's acts against humanity.

India is one of the well resourced nation but which is like a sinking ship due to corruption in all fields. We had all wealth and every resource and each and every people have several contribution to enhance the nation. According to IPC indian penal code all people must have right to shelter, live, food, now education too. So all people have right to do anything in india with out effecting other people. At the same time each people have their own responsibility.

People must know their rights properly and use it properly then nation will start to move towards world best country. Mostly people don't know about right to information (RTI) act which is for all common people in india only condition is He/she must be citizen of india. Through this RTI each and every people can get information records from goverment. By using this records we have a rights to as the wrong thing done in the goverment to get our rights.By means of RTi even one can ask the sample of building concert for testing which is used in fly over bridge if a person asked this and compare it will the estimation file which can be get by rti while constrution means then all official will work proerly. This is an example i am telling.

Another example i am taking is if there is any problem with government service for example let we take railways then we should notify it to official by written compliant and get attested otherwise send by register post with acknowledgment for our prof if he haven't take action means then we can as that complaint by means of RTI so that he must give information to it so he will do proper solution for it else we can go for appeal in one month after that also he havn't complete it means we can go for futher appel to state right to information official after that sure that problem will be solved.

If we all people start to move like this corruption will be put to an end by means of using our resource properly we will be one of the best nation in world.

India is planing to improve electricity production hydro electric,nuclear,thermal power stations are under construction allover the India.so till 2020 electricity production will be more than requirement. Reliance,Tata are some companies who are building these power plants.
In India condition of roads railway are improving with a great speed.new metro routs are under construction in Delhi,Mumbai,Kolkata,Benglur.New express highway are under construction not only in metro cities but also in small cities.
In mumbai steel& other production companies are settled.These companies are now expanding their business,they are improving their services, quality,technique.
India has to improve in inovation part as there are not too big innovations since last many decades.
Steel product consumption in India is less than US currently but its increasing rate will take India on top of world as a most steel product using country in world.

India needs massive investment in infrastructure. Delhi Airport looks like a joke, compared that to Bejing, Bangkok, or Hong Kong. Take a ride from Bombay airport to Bombay downtown and a ride from Shanghai airport to Shanghai downtown, you will know the difference.

India should improve their tax collection. Many businesses earning millions hardly pay any taxes. India also need to reduce corruption.

But, to achieve the 'economic superpower' goal, India requires massive investments in infrastructure. Where will the funds come from? "Raising funds is not a big problem,"

I am Hamza,according to me India only will become a super power if they do the right things in the right way.They have to stop spending billions and millions of rupees only on Bollywood.That are earning a big part of their economy on this industry but this alone is not enough to be super power.They have to do something more.LIke investing more money on nuclear programs,rehabbilation of the poor areas and above all they has to increase their literacy rate.They have to educate their peoples and then their are chances to become super power.

If india want to become a superpower, much more emphasis have to be given to research and development, and should promote entrepreneurship among the youth in india and provide cheap capital for development of company. improve the infrastructure particularly the electricity grid and road, rail and ports.

Get the manufacturing companies to develop high value products rather than cheap products.
