Would you suggest using baby shampoo on a dog when you bath him?

Do you think that baby shampoo as gentle as it is would be a good idea for a puppy? The flea shampoo is not what he needs as he doesn't have any fleas or other skin problems. I love the way baby shampoo smells and since it is no more tears, it should be safe for a pups eyes. Would the dog hair be different for people than dogs?

I believe baby shampoo would be find for a puppy. And as you mentioned you do not need flea shampoo, in fact flea shampoo is not recommended for puppies. If your puppy did have fleas you would need to consult your veterinarian for a suggestion in diluted flea shampoo to make it safe for your puppy. If your puppy was too little they may recommend something else.
With that being said and your puppy does not have fleas, before the baby shampoo I would recommended puppy shampoo. You would be amazed at how good some puppies shampoos smell. Puppy shampoo is specially formulated with puppies in mind so it may be a bit better. If you run out of puppy shampoo, baby shampoo would be fine.

Yes, I do think that baby shampoo is a good idea for a puppy. In fact, I highly recommend that you use puppy shampoo, since it is especially made for the needs of a pup. I still use puppy shampoo on my dogs because I want it to be gentle on their skin, and I don't want it to get in their eyes. I don't like to use the flea shampoo if I don't have to.

Yes
i had a tiny Chihuahua mix that i used to use baby shampoo on because he had very sensitive skin. Your right, it does smell nice, and it works great.

Of course if your pup reacts badly to it, stop immediately.

I've used human shampoos on my dogs, including baby shampoo, with good results. As for flea shampoos, don't even bother with them. They instruct you to keep the dog wet and soapy for ten to fifteen minutes, but the truth is that any soapy water, with or without insecticides, will drown a flea in ten minutes. No point in using poisons on your dog when it's not necessary!
They don't usually work too well, anyway, since fleas are getting immune to the chemicals we've been using to kill them.
