Would you shake hands with someone that had a bumpy rash on their face and hands?

All I can say is “Thank God for the cold season”, because chances are I am wearing gloves when I met this new person and go to shake his/her hand. If I found myself in proper winter attire, I would likely proceed to greet this person with a warm handshake, but would ensure that I was able to wash my hands properly thereafter and place my gloves inside a bag to be laundered later on.
Without any barrier, however, I think I would have difficulty shaking the person’s bumpy, rash-covered hand. Instead, I would try out a less physical method of greeting the person, such as nodding my head towards him/her in acknowledgement and verbalizing an extra friendly “Hello, pleased to meet you” or coughing dramatically into both of my palms and uttering a quick apology about having caught the flu and not wanting to get him/her sick as well.

To be completely honest, it would probably depend how quickly I thought about it. If they came out of nowhere and stuck out their hand, I would probably go right ahead and shake it. If I had a few seconds to see them coming though, maybe not. You could always try to wave instead, or claim that you're feeling under the weather and aren't shaking peoples' hands. I don't know exactly what my reaction or excuse would be though.

No, I wouldn't.
And oh my gosh -- once when I was in the pool at a health club I belonged to, this woman with a horrible rash got into the pool! I was so shocked! I and about five other people got out of the pool immediately. I could not believe there were people who stayed in!

I would mention that I just changed a very bad diaper or something and need to wash my hands real quick.

I think I would accidentally drop something and have to stoop down and pick it upo and then the shaking hand session would be past. WHEW.....

Probably-- but only because I would be afraid of offending them. However, I would immediately bust out the hand sanitizer afterward and scrub with soap and water ASAP! A visible rash is not necessarily contagious and you would think someone with a contagious rash would avoid shaking hands, but you just never know.

Unlikely. In today's world hand shakes aren't exactly as expected as they once were anyway, and I in general dislike touching people.. rash or no rash. Touching people leaves an odd resignation in my skin, like something stuck and left behind. it's always made me uncomfortable.
