Would you go to jail for your dogs?

Kentucky resident Wanda Moran says she'd rather go to jail than give up any of her six dogs, wlwt.com reports.

Silver Grove residents can have no more than two dogs, so the Campbell County Dog Warden is threatening to take four of Moran's dogs away.

There have been some barking complaints from customers at a nearby dairy bar behind her home. But several of Moran's dogs are old, and she's hoping to keep them until they die.

"Like I said, I'll go to jail. I don't want to. I just want everything to be OK. Just let me keep my dogs until they pass on and I wouldn't get anymore," Moran said.

The problem I see here is she likely knew she was only supposed to have 2 dogs, and she still obtained over this amount. I would not put myself in this situation. If I knew that it would bring up conflict and possible jail time to have 6 dogs, I never would get 6 dogs OR I'd just move to where I could have 6 dogs.

People that intentionally break rules should expect consequences. This is not to say that rules should never be broken but that every action has a reaction if you take the action, you get the reaction.

If it wasn't a circumstance such as this where I put myself in the situation knowingly yes, I would fight for my pets knowing I was in the right.

That would depend on the length of time I would have to spend in jail, and also whether or not I would get to keep my dogs when all is said and done. I do not have any dogs at the moment, but I do have a cat whom I love very much. I would certainly trade a few days in jail for more years of companionship with her (as well as the knowledge that she will be spared from an animal shelter). Maybe even a couple of weeks. Any more than that, and I would not be taking good care of her anyway (since I couldn't have her in jail) so there would not be much point.

No, I wouldn’t. I love my pets but people are more important to me and I would be leaving the people I love. That would just not make sense to me. I feel that my responsibility to the people I love is more important then to the animal. And as mentioned earlier, the dogs were going to get taken away anyway if she were put in jail. We have had some exotic animals and always followed all the laws but I knew if the laws changed that might impact us and our animals. If you know the law, you should follow it or there can be consequences.

I don't thinkit would makesense to as they will come and take thedogs anyway. I would bring the dogs in the house and deny them entry. Only let two at a time out back to go to the bathroom. I would go to the dairy bar and start taking down licene plate numbers to give the people something to think about. When they ask what your doing just tell them you interfere in my life I'll interfere in yours. Make complaints about the bar.
