Would you go into someone's house when they were not at home, just to see what it looked like?

You see your neighbor at the mall. When you drive by their house, you see that the front door is standing wide open. You've always wanted to see their house, but have never been invited. Do you go in, knowing that you have to look around before they get back?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I wouldn't go in and walk around, but I'm sure I'd step just inside in the door briefly to look around--hey, I'm just watching out for the neighbors, making sure they haven't been robbed or vandalized........not that I'm nosy or anything......

I would not....while I have a persistent curiosity, I would respect their privacy. I may peek in while I was closing it, for their security. I can only imagine how violated people feel that have had their homes broken into. It's less of the sense of loss from things being stolen, more so the sense that someone has looked at, or pried into your personal space.

That just wouldn't be very respectful and I wouldn't be able to bring myself to do it....but it would be tempting.

No way. I consider that to be an invasion of privacy. I'd definitely close their door for them though, and tell them that it was wide open as soon as they got home.

Wouldn't it be easier to show up one day with a cake or some donuts for coffee to get to see it. Or you could just say I would love to see your house. Personally I really don't worry about what other people have in their house as long as it is not dangerous to me.
