Would you eventually think you were crazy?

Have you ever had someone in your life just keep telling you and switching the tables on you, that you would almost start believing them? That what if you were in a relationship, or something, and everyone hated that person. Would you eventually listen to them because they are constantly telling you what's right, rather what you think within yourself? It could even be done by that person your with, or friends with.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

The practice of deliberately trying to drive someone -- especially a woman -- mad used to be called "gaslighting", after a movie about this, called "Gaslight". The husband kept adjusting the gas in the lights so they would flicker. The wife kept saying the lights were flickering, and the husband said she was nuts; they were doing no such thing. Ingrid Bergman plays the wife.

This practice is a form of bullying. I would never stay with anyone who was trying to bully me, in this way or in any other way.

Omg i love this movie. Yeah that was crazy and that's exactly what I mean. It's like someone is so good at making you think your wrong that you almost start to believe them, but then you just know deep down that your not wrong. Yeah that is a great example.

That is a possibility to be talked into questioning your own sanity and your own judgment. The main thing for you to do is to be strong in the belief that you are not what other people say.
Many people like to be controlling to the point of brainwashing and it is unhealthy and not a healthy relationship if they are always calling you names.

If people see some controlling behaviors in the boyfriend they may be telling you that for your own good. It sounds like you need to be careful in the friends you choose so that you are not always being dominated by people.

This is sort of hard to follow but I'm taking this question as.. if the people around you all thought you were crazy and told you so, would you eventually begin to believe so yourself?

No. I actually think that all of the things we use to identify someone as "crazy" are simply mental differences. Some of the most influential and brilliant minds in history were also labeled crazy, there is in fact a fine line between genius and insanity. The truly brilliant have no need for a line at all.

Basically, even if other people think I'm crazy, I don't care, because I don't view crazy as wrong.

Yeah, You took the question right. If people just kept telling you something different from what you really knew and thought true, would you eventually give up on your thoughts and give in? Good answer thank you. Your right what's normal anyways...

I think everyone is crazy in their own way. Some just admit it more easily than others. But the thing I have found is the ones who won't admit it are the ones who are crazier than the rest of us. LOL

No I am a strong enough person to listen to my own guidance and do not really worry about what other people think. If you like me you like me if you don't then I just saved money on that Christmas card.
