Would there be more traffic traveling from Richmond to DC on Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving or on Thanksgiving day?

I would say the day before Thanksgiving traffic will be the worst. Two years ago we drove from D.C. to Wilmington, DE the day before Thanksgiving. It normally takes about 2 hours and it took us six. Last year we traveled on Thanksgiving morning (late morning, around 9 or 10) and it took 2.5 hours. Good luck!
