Would Ron Huberman do a good job in charge of Chicago public schools?

Tip for best answer: M$0.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I don't know anything more than surface-level info, but from afar the choice looks a little fishy, doesn't it? He seems to be good at administrative organizational stuff -- or so says his last place of employment, the CTA -- but he has no experience with education specifically. And he's a "Mayor Daley loyalist" according to the Chicago Tribune, which always is a little scary when you're that buddy-buddy with the guy who's apponting the post.

I dunno, the teacher's union sounds bummed but not unwilling to work with the choice, so we'll have to hope for the best.

Go Cubs!
