Would Chuck Norris beat up Bruce Lee?

Based on the fact that Chuck has won multiple championships in the ring and Bruce never did compete, I say Bruce was all show and no go while Chuck is the go to guy. So I say Chuck would beat Bruce in a fight, any thoughts?

Personally, I think that Bruce would take Chuck down to Pain Town, but then again, Chuck is pretty bad-a$$.
Jeet Kun Do, Bruce Lee's style is very fluid and quite flexible and adaptable to each person. It really has no "rules" technically. Chuck's style, Chun Kuk Do is rigid, but VERY powerful.

I think agility and striking would eventually prevail over a power style. So yes, I think that Bruce would win the day.

But MAN what I'd give to see that fight!!!
Cool question!

ok first of all. everyone who say's chuck would win doesnt know jack about martial arts. bruce lee's martial arts experience began with wing chun when he was 13. yip man, bruce lee's inscructor, tried to keep his students from fighting in street gangs but did encourage competition fighting, this being said most people who studied wing chun at the time were actually involved in gang fights and did not compete much. Bruce Lee fought in competitions and in gang fights, one of his first recognized fights was a street fight where the person cheap shotted him when he was taking off his jacket and out of anger bruce lee instantly destroyed the guy, knocking him out and breaking his arm. Bruce lee also fought a british championship boxer in a tournament in the tournament finals knocking him out and before the finals he knocked out 3 others in the first round. he also fought a japanese black belt in karate in a full contact match (THIS IS FOR THE PERSON WHO SAID TO LOOK AT THE FULL CONTACT WORLD!!!!!) and won in what was recorded to be 11 seconds. he also fought a black belt in tae kwon do/kenpo and beat him (AGAIN FOR THE PERSON WHO SAID LOOK AT THE FULL CONTACT WORLD! LAST TIME I CHECKED TAE KWON DO AND KENPO BOTH FELL INTO THAT CATEGORY, in fact i actually train in kenpo as well as muy thai, bjj, and bits and pieces of different kung fu's. and will soon be training in JKD/ Doce Pares Eskrima/Kali/Silat as well as systema. ne ways back to my argument) the black belt said that he knew that bruce lee had amazing hands so bruce lee said he would fight using only his feet, the black belt would try to kick him but bruce lee (because of his wing chun training being that they teach this as a part of it) would move just out of range of the kick and as the black belt's foot would land bruce lee would stop his own kick right before the guy's face (as a way of taunting him). one of the movie extras, who was actually a USPK Karate champion (FULL CONTACT WORLD AGAIN FOR YA!) from Enter the Dragon was taunting bruce lee saying that he was a movie star and not a martial artist and that he couldnt really fight, it was said that the extra was bigger and stronger than bruce lee and was "a damned good martial artist" and bruce lee methodically tore him apart, goin untouched the whole time, eventually slammed him into a wall, threw him onto the ground, put his knee in his chest, locked his arm out, and repeatedly wailed on his face (PROVING THAT RAW POWER DOES NOT BEAT SPEED! YOU CAN BE AS STRONG AS YOU WANT BUT YOU CANT BEAT WHAT YOU CANT TOUCH! the great thing about bruce lee is that he was not only incredibly fast, but he was incredibly strong. he followed a body building workout and diet. and for those who doubt have u ever heard of his world famous one inch punch? the guy punches harder from an inch away than almost anyone can full force. or how bout the 2 finger push up? the guy was a beast in every way shape in form, in ways chuck norris could only dream of being). John T. Benn had dinner with Chuck Norris and quoted "When I was having dinner with Chuck Norris I did ask him: 'If you and Bruce would be in a real fight to death, who would win?' and he said without thinking: "Bruce of course. Nobody can beat him."....on to what they studied. bruce lee formed jeet kune do, which is wing chun (wat he orginally started out studying) as well as implementing his own modifications including boxing, wat's now considered muy thai, grappling/jiu-jitsu, and fencing/weapons defense (such as doce pares eskrima or pekiti tirsia silat or filipino kali). Jeet kune do is all based on speed, precision, simplicity, variability/flexibility, improvision, and being untouched. Chuck Norris' martial arts is Chun Kuk Do, which is made up of tang soo do (what chuck norris orginially studied) as well as tae kwon do, muy thai, brazilian jiu-jitsu (fake jui-jitsu btw!), and shotokan. all of these are based on raw power and brute force, granted they do encourage speed as a part of it but they sacrafice giving open shots and opportunities for strength. these use raw power derived from the muscles of the body while jeet kune do (JKD) derives its speed from the tendons of the muscles giving it more speed and snap to it. If you have ever watched professional football or know anything about physics then you know that size is NOT everything. let's start from the phsycis perspective, Knocking someone back (or in physics, move something) is all based on momentum, the equation for momentum being that momentum is equal to mass multiplied by velocity (speed), so the more momentum someone has the easier it is to knock someone back. the momentum of the fist or foot has to overcome the momentum of the person (being very little considering the person is not moving usually or moving very little). considering that the mass of a fist is usually about the same for every person then it obviously comes down to the velocity of the punch. thus the faster the punch the stronger it is. from the football perspective, it is the same as a running back trucking through a linebacker. how can a 200 lbs or so running back run through a 250 lbs linebacker? the answer is momentum, granted the lineback weighs more but the running back runs faster so after a certain difference in speed between lineback and running back the running back will run through the line back. meaning speed gives power. so based on martial arts TYPES, let alone individual ability, the fact that bruce lee trained in (let alone formed) JKD gives him an advantage over Chuck Norris who trained in Chun Kuk Do. ironically the martial arts based on power actually has less power than the one based on speed. to respond to the person who said chuck norris would win by roundhouse kicking him, you obviously dont understand the fact that chuck norris wouldnt even be able to touch bruce lee let alone knock him out. and to the person who said that bruce never competed OBVIOUSLY hasnt studied ANYTHING about either bruce lee or chuck norris. granted bruce lee did not compete in AS MANY competitions as chuck norris but the one's he did compete in he raped, also he is the only person that i know of that has an open door policy for those that want to fight him and think they can beat him. and last time i checked bruce lee has a better fighting record than chuck norris. in fact i have yet to find a single source saying that bruce lee has ever lost. anyone have any thoughts on what i said?

Watch "Way of the Dragon", if you didnt already know Bruce fights chuck norris. Also chuck norris once said that if he had to fight bruce lee, bruce would take him hands down.

To answer this question, look at the full contact world. All of the big full contact champions came from the more straight line styles of Karate and Taekwondo oe similiar styles. If you Look at the big names like Chuck Norris, Bill Wallace, Joe Lewis and on and on, you will see a domination by the hard straight l;ine styles. Bruce Lee was a phenom no doubt. Lightning quick and amazing, but you will not find his name on the top of any full contact titles. I believe he did win the forms of many tournaments back in the day, but not the full contact fighting. Even today you don't see many Kung Fu Stylists making it in the top of the full contact arena. If you can give me names and data that says otherwise I'd like to see it, but I would have picked chuck in a full contact fight over Bruce Lee any day! SMK

I am a big fan of both Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris. In real life they are good friends and sparring partner from time to time. Chuck said he has tremendous respect for Bruce and Bruce feels the same way about him. However there is a distinct diffrence between two martial arts Icon's styles.
Bruce Lee is know to have lighting speed fists of fury and Chuck is known for his overpowering spin kicks to the head.
Basically, its a hypothetical match up between SPEED vs. POWER. Not that Bruce Lee lack Power ( he bench press 150lbs) nor Chuck Norris lack speed in his power spin kicks.
I am just glade they both left Martial Arts aficionado and movie fans around the world a legendary fight scene (Rome Colossium) that will never be duplicated nor surpassed!!!
It was fight for the ages!
One more thing, I was traveling in Rome, Italy 1973 when "Enter the Dragon" premieres. I was shocked to witness how long the waiting lines for "Enter the Dragon" in the streets of Rome. It snaked around for blocks.

Wow, you guys talk ALOT of bull*%&%.

1. The ONLY record of Bruce Lee ever fighting is the boxing match in his youth. That's it! The rest are just storys. Of course he has fought more, but there's no records of any kind. Just alot of talk. From people who knew Bruce. Don't take it seriously.

2. Stop saying he mastered all those martial arts!! The truth is he didn't master ANY martial art. He studied some Wing Chun. SOME! not alot. And no, Yip man didn't personly train him, for various of reasons. One, he didn't teach any more and let his other students do that for him. (but the pictures you might say? So? Just pictures. Ask anyone who knew Bruce.) Two, he thought Bruce was too modern and didn't take it seriosly.
I have met people who knew Bruce and trained with him. Yes! You heard me. Dr Leung ting for instance. Bruce did NOT master anything. He left for the US when he was 18 for goodness sake! He never trained any martial art after that, expect for his own vision: Jeet kune do.

The thing with Bruce is this:

1. He kind of is the father of MMA. He looked into other arts and took what he liked.

2. He understod early on the need to stay in shape.

Please, stop telling these storys about him. Celebrate what he actually did instead! He changed the way people view martial arts! Read the book or watch the movie Bruce Lee my brother. Written by HIS brother Robert Lee. It tells the truth!

And to answer the question? I don't know. I think it would be pretty close. We don't know if Bruce can take a punch for instance. Remember, Norris was an undefeated world champion with many years of fighting behind him.

Not true most tournament fighters are the all show while Bruce did not care about pointless competition but i have no idea who would win if both was at their prime but my money is on Bruce.

The first rule of Chuck Norris is that you do not talk about Chuck Norris.

That being said Chuck would totally take Bruce down with one roundhouse kick.

And of course if by some wierd space continuum Chuck Norris had to fight Chuck Norris he'd win.

If you have ever watched professional football or know anything about physics then you know that size is NOT everything. let's start from the phsycis perspective, Knocking someone back (or in physics, move something) is all based on momentum, the equation for momentum being that momentum is equal to mass multiplied by velocity (speed), so the more momentum someone has the easier it is to knock someone back. the momentum of the fist or foot has to overcome the momentum of the person (being very little considering the person is not moving usually or moving very little). considering that the mass of a fist is usually about the same for every person then it obviously comes down to the velocity of the punch. thus the faster the punch the stronger it is. from the football perspective, it is the same as a running back trucking through a linebacker. how can a 200 lbs or so running back run through a 250 lbs linebacker? the answer is momentum, granted the lineback weighs more but the running back runs faster so after a certain difference in speed between lineback and running back the running back will run through the line back. meaning speed gives power. so based on martial arts TYPES, let alone individual ability, the fact that bruce lee trained in (let alone formed) JKD gives him an advantage over Chuck Norris who trained in Chun Kuk Do. ironically the martial arts based on power actually has less power than the one based on speed. to respond to the person who said chuck norris would win by roundhouse kicking him, you obviously dont understand the fact that chuck norris wouldnt even be able to touch bruce lee let alone knock him out. and to the person who said that bruce never competed OBVIOUSLY hasnt studied ANYTHING about either bruce lee or chuck norris. granted bruce lee did not compete in AS MANY competitions as chuck norris but the one's he did compete in he raped, also he is the only person that i know of that has an open door policy for those that want to fight him and think they can beat him. and last time i checked bruce lee has a better fighting record than chuck norris. in fact i have yet to find a single source saying that bruce lee has ever lost. anyone have any thoughts on what i said?"

Bruce Lee started fighting at a young age in Hong Kong gangs, he was always trying to better himself. Later in life he had masterd 5 or 6 different martial arts styles and created his own. Lee also had a very intense work outs with weights and running, jumping rope and he also could do 1 arm push ups with 2 fingers, he also had great eating habits of fruits, vegetables and some of his own special nurishment to get the max amount of vitamins. Bruce Lee was pure muscle with lightning speed and precise accuracy when fighting an opponet. At 18 he was the schools boxing champion, then he defeated 3 time British boxing champion in 3 rounds. At 19, Crown Colony Cha Cha campion of Hong Kong was defeated by Bruce Lee. In 1962 Lee defeated a Japanese Black Belt in 11 seconds and knocked him out. On Enter the Dragon set Lee was taunted by an extra saying Lee was just an actor not a martial artist. Lee told him to get off the wall and come over, this man was bigger, stronger and very fast yet Bruce Lee methodically took him apart according to Bob Wall who was in the movie. Bruce Lee was in many competitive fights, some arranged some not. Lee could punch a man in the chest from 1 inch away and knock him down, the person would be hurting for days. Chuck Norris did his advanced training under or with Bruce Lee, Norris never lost a match when training with Bruce Lee. The bottom line is Bruce Lee was a very tough kid and was educated on the streets of Hong Kong in the fighting arts, and as he got older his fights were escalating until be beat up a man who's father was in the triad, his parents thought it best for him to come to the US. Bruce Lee was well educated and had a large library of 2500 books, he lived his arts and beliefs and in my opinion he was the best martial artist of our time.
