Would a Czech be supporting the Slovakian football team in the World Cup?
May be in Czechoslovakia during the World Cup and wondered how the local population would react if the Slovakian team was mentioned.

These two countries have very cordial relations from what I can tell, and a lot of ethnic Slovaks live in the Czech Republic and vice versa.
The Czech team have had a lot of success in international soccer since reaching the final of Euro '96. I'm sure they won't begrudge their neighbours their first appearance at a World Cup. Not sure how loudly they will be cheering for them, but I'm sure they would be happy to see them do well, even if they wouldn't directly admit it.
