Would a child that likes the anime Dragonball enjoy the video games?

My son loves the anime show Dragonball when it comes on. It does come on sometimes on one of the stations I have, but I have a hard time finding it. I noticed at the used video game stores that this is also video games. Do most children how like the show also like the game as well? How does the Dragonball games rate for being kid friendly? Are they very violent?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I have played a Dragonball Z game or two (the Tenkaichi games), and they are bloodless. They are also not anything different from what you can see in the series. In fact, they are a lot less violent than what you can find on a volume of the uncensored DBZ DVDs.

It's violent, but it's fantasy violence. Guys get thrown through mountains, after all. Nothing to get too worried about- unless your child is the type who likes to imitate fight moves on his friends.

I know that Nickelodeon has started showing Dragonball Kai, so a new generation has been initiated in one of my favorite anime. Eventually, they will go on the computer or talk to their friends and learn about all the games out there.

If you want a guaranteed kid-safe title, you would have to seek out Dragonball : Revenge of King Picollo for the Nintendo Wii. It's based on Dragonball (not Z) where a young Goku is fighting the bad guys.
