No i do not think that they are improving enough to reach the top10. Let me just say in order for the United States to improve they will have to 1. Build better soccer pitches for the teams to play on instead of NFL pitches. 2. The League will have to invest heavily to bring in the worlds best soccer players 3. Americans on a whole would have to start to look at soccer as a serious sport and encourage more of the youth to play it. 3. Also they would have to invest heavily in the league so that the country can make soccer more competitive by creating more teams
And the biggest factor why they will not get in the top 10 is this. on the global stage they have to compete with teams such as Brazil,Spain,Argentina,England,Italy,Germany,France etc. All of these countries can pride themselves of having the best leagues in the world, outstanding players and most of all, most mentioned have won the world cup. USA has a mountain to climb to reach that spot(#10). it can happen but America would have to change it mind set about football(the real football).

At the moment there's enough of the usual suspects at the top, like Brazil, Argentina, Italy, Spain, France, Holland, England, Germany plus the likes of Croatia, Russia etc that I don't see the US quite getting there.

• I believe your analysis is correct. There needs to be more internal support and competition within the US to get the team up to the competitive level they need to be. Or they need to buy players.

The US has appeared in the Top 10 of the FIFA rankings before, but it's a pretty tough ask. There are maybe 6-7 perenially strong countries, and then at any given time maybe another 5 or 6 that have a good crop of players or are having a good run of form. At the moment there's enough of the usual suspects at the top, like Brazil, Argentina, Italy, Spain, France, Holland, England, Germany plus the likes of Croatia, Russia etc that I don't see the US quite getting there.
