World Cup 2010 Predictions - Who Will Win?
My take is: Brazil vs Portugal - Brazil being the Champ..

M$I think Fernando Torres will rock this year and as I see, today, Spain has the best soccer team in the world.

M$I doubt this year's trophy will reach other continents. It will stay in Europe, because believe it or not, true soccer is played in Europe and the Champions League can demonstrate that. Ahhh...I can't wait to see the final!!!! :D
In the environment of the world cup, Spain have been always the country which arrived preceded with fame and high chances for getting the title, but in the end they failed miserably by dropping the ball at the crucial moment and ruining their chances for the title.
I wouldn't give Spain a chance, no matter how good their roaster might look in the world cup. They simply don't have what it takes to win a cup.
Good luck for Spain although I am inclined to say that I too do not believe that either Spain or Germany will get there :) Sorry, that's my opinion

M$One fact most never realized... Brazil is the only country in the history of Football to have won World Cup titles in every continent... except in Africa.
With Southafrica now being the first country to host the World Cup there, it will be the perfect setting for breaking an incredible record... if Brazil could manage to acomplish the feat.
Right now, Brazil is the leader of the world's football power houses with 5 titles conquered in:
Sweden 1958 (Europe)
Chile 1962 (South America)
Mexico 1970 (Central America)
USA 1994 (North America)
Korea/Japan 2002 (Asia)
...Southafrica 2010 (???)
Wiki could not predict much less play football for anybody @vladis. But if there is any indication about the direction, this, or any other World Cup could be played it is precisely the one indicated by Wiki on the past history of the World Cup, not the present status of the aging roster.
On this scenario, Spain or England will never be the big player that most gamblers think. In the end, this World Cup may be like the rest, one in which the World Champion will emerge from the bottom up, just in the middle of the tournament.
Examples are abundant: Italy coming from the basement during the 1982 World Cup and eliminating Brazil in semifinals; or Argentina arriving full of criticism at the 1986 World Cup, stunning the world and obliterating England along the way and getting the title against Germany.
We should not look further to find a better example of a team that peaked DURING the tournament... Italy did it again, almost coming from sudden elimination against Australia in the 2006 World Cup, they and grew like a wave that wiped Germany the host nation, and France, a former world champion, to grab an incredible title as an underdog.
So yes, Wiki is lousy at predicting a championships based solely on physical or aging condition, but on the contrary, Wiki could be a great counselor which could lead us to determine a probable winner just by analyzing historical statistics.
See, a World Cup is much more than physical preparation or fitness, and like the game itself it’s not always won with the feet... but with the head.
I am with you...Italy
Good luck for Italy then, but I agree with @pixelsilva, if Brazil does win, it will be a great feat.
If Brazil won on every continent doesn’t mean they will win in Africa. We are talking about best teams here…not the history. Do you think the other teams are not motivated? :))
Please go here and check the team according to Wikipedia. Check the DOB for Brazil and the clubs:

Now, go here…. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spain_national_football_team
I think that the medium age for Spain is 25 years, while Brazil has a 29 medium age for players.
Clubs? Hmmm… cmoon….:)))

England is another team that only manages good result when they got home field advantage. Their only FIFA World Cup win was exactly the same held in England in 1966, period.
¿Name one single international tournament won by England outside their territory? I'll give you a hand: None.
...whilst, teams like Argentina got their trophy rooms full of FIFA World Cups with 2 titles on 4 final appearances, FIFA World Cups Under-20 with 6 titles, 2 Olympic Gold Medals, 1 Confederation Cup and they even won the continent's America Cup an unprecedented 11 times!
Their local tournament teams sport much better handicaps like Boca Juniors, Independiente Avellaneda, River Plate or Estudiantes grabbing the lion's share of the old Intercontinental Cup (played during the last 40 years).. Boca 3 times, Independiente 2 times, River, Racing, Estudiantes and Velez Sarfield with 1 each; in all, 9 Intercontinental Cup wins, impressive.
Brazil is a juggernaut with 5 World Cups on 7 final appearances, three of them by getting the old Jules Rimet trophy, all outside their country and their continent. Brazil won 4 FIFA World Cups Under-20, grabbed the Confederation Cup 3 times and the America Cup 8 times. Incredibly they have never won the Olympic Gold Medal.
Even the small but classy Uruguay got 2 World Cups, 2 Olympic Gold Medals and 10 America Cup wins.
England is like Spain, too much vegetable and no meat.

I agree...Spain will have this cup this year...I know it and they have all they need!
England is my second choice. I would love to see a final Italy-England.
