Not only are there 2 sets of repeating letters as @seventwooh answered but each set is reversed. In fact if you remove the first letter of each word then transpose the remaing letters and put the first letter back on, the the word is exactly the same.

at least 2 letters in each word are repeated.

Banana - a and n are repeated
Dresser - r and s and e are repeated
Potato - o and t are repeated.
Assess - s is repeated twice

Each of these words has a sound that repeats later in the word.

If you move the first letter of each word to the end it reads the same backwards as forwards..

1. Banana..... ananaB reads Banana backwards, and so on.
