Use Wordie.

"Wordie lets you make lists of words and phrases."

You can come back to the word and it's definition page any time you want. Wordie is social, so you'll also discover words there.

Why does it have to be online?
I use MS Word for that purpose and it works fine for me.
There are lots of file sharing sits where you can keep your Word document on line and access it from anywhere.

You can try ninjawords.com. You should set your cookies to not expire so that it keeps the lookup history.

The objective of ninjawords.com is that it looks words up fast. Otherwise, there aren't any other features to it, except the one I mentioned above.
