One of the best things for PCOS is Cod Liver Oil. PCOS is an endocrine system problem, and high vitamin cod liver oil address that problem by helping balance many of the major nutrients in the body. Matter of fact the effect is geometric when combined with high vitamin butter oil from grass fed cows. Add in a good liquid magnesium supplement like Natural Vitality's Natural Calm, and the major nutrients that form the biggest part of cellular metabolism will be in balance. In addition, the cod liver oil has other things to help the endocrine system.

"The fact that the hypothalamus is probably involved provides a clue to the root cause of PCOS--MSG and other excitotoxins in the food supply that disrupt the normal function of the hypothalamus, causing it to send the wrong signals to the ovaries. Lack of vitamin A is another culprit, as vitamin A is needed for every step in the metabolic pathway from cholesterol to estrogen. Trans fatty acids interfere with appropriate hormone production. The researchers at U VA plan to spend years studying the problem but meanwhile we urge women with this condition to implement the following simple steps: take high doses of cod liver oil and completely avoid processed food." Are there any tips on getting pregnant more easily?

Yvonne Wilson:
Yes, many suggestions and tips exist, describing how to get pregnant fast, such as best positions, temperature for ovulation, healthy food balance, and some of these tips are actually true. But they will not always guarantee you a fast pregnancy or raise your chances of getting pregnant to a significant percentage.
If you really want to sky rock your odds of getting pregnant you should use an combination of two natural products, cheap and easy to buy at supermarkets, health stores,...
These two healthy products together with specific dates for sexual intercourse raises your chances of getting pregnant naturally from 20-30% up to 87.1% within 1-3 female cycles.

One of the most common questions I get from women who are newly diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome is “Will I ever get pregnant?” I have not been able to find specific studies regarding fertility and PCOS-likely because it is so hard to track those who are successful in getting pregnant without medical intervention. One source said that women with PCOS have an 80-90 percent chance of having a baby, but I was unable to find any research studies to back this up. While some women with polycystic ovarian syndrome will not be able to get pregnant, I believe that the majority can and do eventually have healthy babies.

First, 5-10% of women of childbearing age have PCOS. If their symptoms are mild they are often undiagnosed. If they have even one child, many physicians will say they can not have PCOS. This is ridiculous if you look at the diagnostic criteria. The most common criteria for diagnosis include a failure to ovulate regularly. However, for many women this means they have long cycles (35 days or longer in many cases) but they DO ovulate.

Some women with PCOS have unhealthy eggs because their periods are too far apart, in many cases this is correctable with herbs, diet or drugs. Many women with PCOS also have a thyroid condition. Frequently, if this is treated they begin to ovulate. Many women with PCOS have frequent miscarriages, but they eventually have a healthy baby—often with the help of progesterone cream or suppositories. Some women find that losing weight, taking vitex or other herbs, or reducing stress cause them to begin ovulating (for me it was all three!). Some l

People with PCOS nearly always have syndrome-x too. It's vital to reduce your insulin resistance by cutting sugar out of your diet and cutting down on carbs (not altogether of course).

You also need to do some research to make sure you cut out all the xenoestrogens from your diet and environment. These are chemicals, particularly pesticide residues and plastics, that when ingested are treated like estrogens in the body (because they fill the estrogen receptors). They can change the balance of hormones and this results in PCOS for many women.

Following a naturally healthy way of life will have to be a priority.

You need to read up on the subject and join one of the online PCOS forums to make sure you benefit from all the current knowledge on the subject.

A great book to read is The Shwarzbein Principle by Diana Shwarzbein.

Definitely invest in some ovulation tests to see when your LH is surging. Steer clear of caffeine, alcohol, and processed soy. I also found accupuncture to be helpful in regulating my system overall.
