Have you ever had a Canadian wine before?
If you have: what was it and what did you think of it? (if many what is your favorite)
If not: why not!
Bonus: Please add links to some great resources about Canadian Wines!

Yes. But I live in Ontario so ...
As you say in response to another question, Ontario Ice Wine is very good (I prefer Rieslings to Vidals)
Canadian wines have been winning International wine contests with increasing frequency.
In Canada, there is now a VQA program (Vinters Quality Assurance) and I've never had a bad wine with this designation. They are not all great but all have been good.

I have not! I have had one taste of wine before, and I didn't like it...Is Canadian better? I'm a fan of the sweeter drinks and this one was BITTER! And I think it was pretty cheap too! LOL (The pic is beautiful by the way!!!)
Cheap Canadian wine is bad, very very bad! Our land and labor is expensive in the Niagara region (our most famous of wine regions) So your going to get some real crap unless you pony up at least $15+
At least in Ontario we are pretty famous for our Ice Wine (a desert wine) so "we" know how to make them pretty darn sweet :) Also you said bitter which usually means that the wine has lots of tannins, its entirely possible that the wine was just too young or didn't have enough time to breath before you drank some.
Thanks for the honest response though :)

Are you say ing you don't drink wines at all? That's ok; but you wouldn't have the background to answer this question. There are lots of kinds of sweet and semi-sweet wines available if you want to try them.
I guess, yes, you would say I'm not a wine drinker-obviously, since I've had it one time. But that doesn't disqualify me from answering the question. I may not be an experienced "wine taster" but that wasn't the question. The question was "Have you had Canadian wine?" And my answer was "No, I have not." :o)
I did try Canadian wines but it was a long time ago and I don't remember much detail. They are not widely available. As best I remember, they tasted like wines from New York. I am a fan of real New York wines, the ones that use native grape varieties and don't try to imitate European or California wines. They are hard to find too.
I have given up drinking altogether but I used to imbibe (too) regularily, I was quite fond of Canadian wines, but for me they mostly came from Canada's "other" wine growing region, the Okanagan, don't recall ever having had a lousy wine from there and yes I agree, with the VQA in place the ones with that designation all seem very good. Gehringer Brothers was one that stood out but does not seem to be on the link below.

I found your answer and link very interesting. I have not seen any of these wines for sale here in Louisiana or traveling about in the states.
