Windows 7 RC is available from Microsoft's website (both 32-bit and 64-bit version)
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/download.aspx
I managed to install it on a test machine, it is the Windows 7 Ultimate.
This version would run until June 1, 2010. However, starting March 1, 2010, the PC will begin shutting down every two hours.

I feel that Windows 7 is ready for release. I found it is allot better then Vista, like night and day. You can get it from Microsoft Tech Net and it is good for 1 year. (If you have the ram I suggest getting the 64bit version. I feel it is more stable)

It is not legal to download from a torrent...that would be distributing copyrighted material without the copyright holder's consent.

It's legal to download the beta or RC if you've provided the required information to Microsoft. Available on TechNet or to the public. It is not legal to download from a torrent...that would be distributing copyrighted material without the copyright holder's consent.
