William Shatner is directing and producing a documentary about his own life. Has this been done before?
Just saw an article about an upcoming William Shatner project ... apparently he's directing a documentary about himself. As reported by sci-fi wire: ""A feature documentary following the life and career of William Shatner, The Captains will explore Shatner's Montreal roots and his early career in Stratford, Ontario, as well as the extraordinary change in circumstances caused by the serendipitous casting for the role of Captain James T. Seems odd ...is this the first time a celebrity has proposed directing AND producing a documentary about himself? If not, who has done this in the past?

There are several documentaries on different celebrities, both past and present. But I think William Shatner; will be the first celebrity that would be directing and also executive producing a personal biography documentary of himself.
I kind of like the idea because no one can really tell the story of your life more than you can tell it yourself. This would also prevent problems caused by exaggerating a celebrity’s life in the past.
William Shatner has an interesting biography and a long train of discography, Filmography and bibliography. Some of his films and television shows that I find fascinating are ; star trek, Miss Congeniality, Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous, William Shatner's Gonzo Ballet and Show Me the Money.
I am actually looking forward to seeing this documentary.
