Will you play Monopoly City Streets?

This actually sounds pretty cool - using Google Maps to find, buy and own property. Of course, I really do NOT need to get sucked into another online game....but I have a feeling I will be! Monopoly fans: are you going to play?
Tip for best answer: M$2.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I enjoy Monopoly and love the iPhone Monopoly game, so I can see myself giving it a try.

This sounds like it'll be rather different than the normal Monopoly game though, with no rolling of dice, and no pieces moving around the map. It sounds like you just a pick a spot that's available, buy it, build what you like, and then get a pre-determined daily rent.

I can see that getting quite dull after a short while, since the real fun of Monopoly is in the interaction between the players, making trades, and the ups and downs of the dice rolls. Also it seems like there is no clear end to the game.

I'm a fan of Monopoly.
It doesn't matter if it's on the computer, or old school with a board and dice.

I think that using the whole world to play against the whole world sounds... out of this world!

I've never played an internet game on such a grand scale.
I'm excited and a little intimidated at the same time.

Can I still bicker over the chance cards?

I was leaning toward no, but the more I look at it and think about it the more fun it sounds.

I do enjoy a good game of Monopoly & I enjoy massive multiplayer sim & strategy games. The real hook for me is the idea of playing real locations. I have to admit that sounds like a blast.

Will you be playing?

This sounds like the best idea ever, to be frank. As if I needed one more way for Google to own my soul...

And from what I heard, you start out with $3 million fake money, so buying things shouldn't be a problem. You get rent automatically - the dice-rolling part is out. But chance cards are still in. And lest I forget! You can also demolish things. Things that belong to other people.

I'm already eyeing my entire town, although with the number of people I just told about it, I might not be the only one.

I enjoy monopoly , actually 2 of my Mahalo pages Hasbro and Monopoly have been getting extra clicks lately.

I definitely will be taking a look at this.

Not sure If i will be a avid participant yet tho.

For me its different, my grandfather worked at hasbro for over 25 years, so I have some roots in the game. Me and my cousins would stay up all ours of the night playing this game.

Yeah... will def. be looking at this.

Kind Regards,
@XDS

Wow! The whole world as your playing ground! I think you could really have fun with this. It takes the old game of monopoly to a whole new level, a whole new world.

It doesn't looks like it will be like the regular monopoly with rolling of dice but I still think monopoly fans will love it.

Don't know yet if I will join in on the fun but I will definitely think about it.

Will take a look at it when it goes live.

Interesting.

I saw news on Monopoly City Streets too..
Check its website, which leads to its blog.. but nothing much is there yet..

They still need some 3D building design.. Wonder whether there will be a contest.

I think I'll only have a feel of it first but probably will not play :-)

This might be interesting. But.. How does that work? I 'buy' my own street, where I live, and whenever the Google 'streetview' car passes through our street, Google pays me rent?

I fail to see how you make money...

The monopoly streets- site and blog are less-than-informative, so I think this will die a slow death.

Too bad, it could have potential.
