Will you be printing the KFC coupon for a free meal?

Oprah announced that you can go to http://www.unthinkfc.com/ and print out a coupon for FREE meal which includes two pieces of grilled chicken, two individual sides and a biscuit.

1. Will you be doing this?
2. Do you think giving food/anything away for free during this tough economic time is a good thing?
Tip for best answer: M$2.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Yes, I'm going to do it. I have a pre-teen son who attempts to eat his weight daily! We tried it last week when all KFC's were giving away one free piece. Ours gave away tiny little reject wings. Hopefully the "pieces" in the meal won't be the same.

I think it's a good idea during this time, even though things are looking up. I can remember the burger wars of the early 90's, when there were many startup chains offering big burgers for under $1. Rally's got its start during this time, and is one of the only ones left. I can remember going to McDonald's during that time and getting 10 burgers for a quarter apiece, which was great because I was a starving student at the time. Taco Bell used to have a 59-79-99 cent menu around that time, and that's about when McD's and BK started in with their dollar menus.

I printed it out yesterday. I took it too work and several other people had them as well. I looked at their upc codes and ares were all the same. So I went back on-line and printed up 20 copies and started handing them out. When people started going to get their lunch all the cashier did was write the upc number down so you can print as many as you want not the 4 as stated on the website.

You should print them and hand them out to the homeless instead.

What reply were you looking for? Number 1, they probably don't know about it. Number 2, they probably don't have access/dont know how to access these coupons even if they did. Number 3, you could make their day with a free meal.

The part that makes me a little angry are the people taking advantage of the offer so that if there were people that really cannot afford food, they could be turned away...like has happened already.

I tried going to the link and printing out a coupon. It said that I had already printed out the coupons. I just heard about it here.

Yes, I just printed one out. Just waiting to go to the city to use it, I live in the sticks!

Here is where I went to get my coupon if you don't have it.

I don't plan on doing it. I'm not the biggest KFC fan (or KGC? Kentucky grilled chicken?) and there's not one within walking distance so it's not worth it to get coupons for a free meal but then have to pay for the subway to get there.

I think giving away free food is a pretty standard tactic that food companies use when they're rebranding or putting out new products. I'm sure it will turn out well for them. Look how many people are talking about it now. If KFC had put ads on TV advertising that they are getting into the grilled chicken business, would there be any discussions on Mahalo about it? Probably not. But the fact that they used Oprah and they're giving away free food, now everybody's talking. Good marketing.

Already did! Big lines! One poor guy came in not knowing about the coupon and was kind of bummed at the wait. Fortunately for him, it seemed like they were trying to get paying customers through first.

It was very good. We got 2 pieces of chicken, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and a biscuit (each). We didn't have any choice on what we got, though. They just took the coupons and wrote my name and "to go" on them.

I do hope people don't take advantage of more than one coupon each. Free food is great, but companies shouldn't be run out of business by people who have plenty of money using more than one coupon per person.

Enjoy!

No. I tried their grilled chicken already, and it wasn't very good.

No, I missed the window. I just tried to download it, but it didn't work.

I think giving this away is a great way to get people into KFC. I believe this move is a smart one.
