Will you be printing the KFC coupon for a free meal?
1. Will you be doing this?
2. Do you think giving food/anything away for free during this tough economic time is a good thing?

I think it's a good idea during this time, even though things are looking up. I can remember the burger wars of the early 90's, when there were many startup chains offering big burgers for under $1. Rally's got its start during this time, and is one of the only ones left. I can remember going to McDonald's during that time and getting 10 burgers for a quarter apiece, which was great because I was a starving student at the time. Taco Bell used to have a 59-79-99 cent menu around that time, and that's about when McD's and BK started in with their dollar menus.

M$Thats a good idea orange printing them now gonna hand them out tomorrow. I think the reply could of been delivered with more of a positive note though but thanks for the suggestion.
You should print them and hand them out to the homeless instead.
What reply were you looking for? Number 1, they probably don't know about it. Number 2, they probably don't have access/dont know how to access these coupons even if they did. Number 3, you could make their day with a free meal.
The part that makes me a little angry are the people taking advantage of the offer so that if there were people that really cannot afford food, they could be turned away...like has happened already.

M$I think giving away free food is a pretty standard tactic that food companies use when they're rebranding or putting out new products. I'm sure it will turn out well for them. Look how many people are talking about it now. If KFC had put ads on TV advertising that they are getting into the grilled chicken business, would there be any discussions on Mahalo about it? Probably not. But the fact that they used Oprah and they're giving away free food, now everybody's talking. Good marketing.

M$It was very good. We got 2 pieces of chicken, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and a biscuit (each). We didn't have any choice on what we got, though. They just took the coupons and wrote my name and "to go" on them.
I do hope people don't take advantage of more than one coupon each. Free food is great, but companies shouldn't be run out of business by people who have plenty of money using more than one coupon per person.
Enjoy!

M$I think giving this away is a great way to get people into KFC. I believe this move is a smart one.
