Will Tiger Woods surpass Jack Nicklaus in career major victories?

He is 4 major victories short of tying Nicklaus, but his trials and tribulations over the past 14 months have affected his game. Will he ever regain his old form or close to his old form? Now into the last half of his 30's, be probably has about 10 years maximum to win more majors. Any thoughts?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I hope, he can. He is passing bad stage of his career. He can overcome it and gain his form back. You may not agree with me by saying that he is diminishes his form. But I can say, "form is temporary where as class is permanent". From any point of view of golf, he is a class player. He can overcome this bad patch of his career.
I am waiting to see him in his best form again.

I would say yes, it's a no brainer. He's got a lot of time to win just a small handful of events. These problems he's having will clear up sometime and he'll get the motivation to pursue that goal. The only thing that could stop him is if he gets himself into more trouble.

There are more majors now than in Nicklaus' day. We also have the added benefit of better training regiments and technology. I believe all these factors are to Woods' benefit and give him a greater chance of winning more majors and at a higher frequency.

Not a bad answer, but it takes more than motivation. At the same age, Woods and Nicklaus are now dead even with 14 majors. Eventually the skills start to diminish, ever so slightly even, but that is oftentimes enough to keep one from winning the toughest of all tournaments. If Woods can win a major this year, I would think he will do it also. But if he goes another season without it, then I wouldn't bet on it. Nicklaus won just two majors from the age of 40 on. It will be interesting to see what happens.
