Will there ever be a Time Machine ?

With the improvements in technology, is there a possibility of inventing a time machine in the future ?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Scientists can't give a conclusive answer to that question yet. However as Michio Kaku says in the video below, "There is no law of physics preventing time travel." This video is probably the best answer to your question:

Many people discount time travel simply because it seems so far fetched. However not too long ago people said the same thing about teleportation, and we now know that teleportation is possible.

No. There never was and never will be a time machine. This is a concept that is fun for science fiction but just doesn't make any sense in real science. There are ways to travel back in time, theoretically, but they do not include ordinary sized physics. In other words, when our common laws of physics, including time, no longer apply, then one is speaking of size categories either vastly smaller or vastly larger than the human experience. Possibly, a subatomic particle may travel back in time. Possibly a universe may travel backwards in time. But a human, no.

The paradox is, if time travel will exist in the future, why haven't they travelled back to see us? Wouldn't that be the whole point of time travel?

However, a show on the History Channel that aired a couple of years ago discussed a time machine that Professor Ron Mallett of the University of Connecticut was building. His theory was that it would be impossible for one to travel back in time farther than the exact moment in which the machine existed - which would explain the above paradox. I have attached a clip of the show, so you can see the theory behind his machine (which is really rather extraordinary).
