But the answer to your questions is: YES.
There is a cruise ship, to be named Titanic II which will launch in April 2012 (100 year anniversary of the tragedy). Titanic II will retrace the route taken by the original ship and will serve food that matches the original menus of the Titanic.
Tickets are already eagerly being snapped up at $3,000 a piece (which as my source reminds me, is quite a deal considering that the original first class Titanic passengers would've paid the equivalent of about $69,600 in today's dollars for the original voyage!).

The thing is, it was set in the future - the idea is that Jack was frozen in the ice when he died and then in the future they discover him and get him out...

I'm sure they are making some serious ships..Condos? That is crazy...sounds very luxurious though...I will have to check into those...

If they are going to build a ship or use one and name her Titanic II they should use the old style ship with a few upgrades, not just a new ship like the ones of today.

Just one correction - there will be a cruise in 2012 that will retrace the original itinerary of the Titanic (hopefully minus the iceberg), but it won't be on the Titanic II. It's going to be on MS Balmoral.

I would like to know what company is building her? Because the White Star Line went out of buisness about 2 years after Titanic sank.
You may be right, as plans could have changed since this past October, when all press releases were calling the boat "Titanic II" (including the source I cited in my answer).

RMS Titanic II was a proposed ship to be built in 2012. Aboard of the ship there was a proposed museum, dedicated to the Titanic survivors and White Star Line. The Titanic II was designed in January 1998, by Sarel Gous. The ship was nearly built in June 2000, but was cancelled duo the lack of money.
