Will there be a new Disney film that I can I see at the movies this coming year?
How often do the entertainment executives at Disney plan to release new animated features? When is the best showing time to take my child to a Disney film at the movies?

Disney releases many movies per year as they are a full production studio constantly putting together new projects. The slated releases for 2011 include: I am Number Four, Mars Need Moms!, Prom, a Winnie the Pooh Movie, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Cars 2: World Grand Prix, and War Horse. They also have a partial schedule for the movies coming out in 2012, including Monster, Inc 2.
Typically, Disney releases one large animation project per year, but with the return of Pixar there can be 2-3 releases per year, one as classic animation and one as Pixar's computer animation. Typically taking your child to a movie should revolve around their normal schedule and their age. You should avoid conflicting with nap times or times of day when they are particularly fussy. If you make it an "event" for children in the 5 age range, you can often help keep them interested as they will see it as something particularly special. Keep in mind your child's interest level in movies and their habits, there is not one good guide for this as every person is different.
