Will the new Herman Miller Embody Chair be as successful as the Herman Miller Aeron Chair?

The Aeron chair created such a hot buzz in offices throughout the world that it became instantly cool to have one.
Many offices even purchased hundreds of the chairs to attract employees and update their style.
There was somewhat of a frenzy around the Aeron chair and even today, it's still known as one of the best office chairs available. The unique style and features make it recognizable and noteworthy in an office, even today.
While the new chair will no doubt be a welcome addition to many executive offices and posh home offices, the public has not created the same buzz or affinities for the revision.
While there are many discernable differences between this and the previous generation, there simply aren't enough advantages.
The Aeron chair was a revolution and this follow up is an improvement, but not revolutionary.

M$Now take a look at the current situation most companies are in. There is very little chance that a company will be willing to spend that kind of money to buy chairs (even if they have the money to do so the PR hell that would come from spending that kind of money on chairs right now would not be worth it)

M$When the Aeron chair came out it was before Windows and the computer craze in general. When that took off, Aeron was the best choice. The internet bubble put it on the map. They went out of their way to improve on it with the Embody. The main improvement being in spinal support, and its proper adjustment across a wide range of body sizes. Which resulted in using an external spine and a self-adjusting back supporting mat. Otherwise by now everyone sells six way ajustable seats.
The problem here is not only is there no new boom to come along and buy thousands of chairs at a shot. But they released it just as the market was about to shake off the weak holders and go down. I will not mention that it has no style other than the backbone. From any other view it reminds me of a dental chair.
The first one had the edge because it was first. Success was probably due to marketing more than technology. The Aeron has NO depth adjustment. If it does not fit you it will not fit you. You have to be an Aeron person or mesmerized with the hype.
