If Israel launches an air strike on Iran, Russia and China will remain neutral.

Russia does not have a defensive posture against Israel nor do they have a defense agreement with Iran, so their concern is more of a preoccupation for the sensible issue of dealing with two archenemies which are both at the same time friends, share commercial ties and are in good standing with Russia.

According to "www.huffingtonpost.com" on the September 20, 2009 article "No Iran Strike Planned by Israel, Medvedev Says" by Jim Heintz:

In an interview with CNN television broadcast Sunday, Medvedev also confirmed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a secret visit to Moscow this month that included a meeting with the Russian president. In a transcript of the interview released by the Kremlin, Medvedev hedges on the question of whether Russia would support Iran if it were attacked by Israel.

Although Russia has no defense agreement with Iran "this does not mean we would like to be or will be indifferent to such an occurrence. This is the worst thing that can be imagined," Medvedev said of a potential Israeli strike.

"What would happen after that? Humanitarian disaster, a vast number of refugees, Iran's wish to take revenge – and not only upon Israel, to be honest, but upon other countries as well."

"But my Israeli colleagues told me they were not planning to act in this way, and I trust them," Medvedev said.

As for China, they have established diplomatic relations with Israel since 1992. Both nations have developed close and extensive cooperation in trade, military and strategic fields. Regarding the sensible issue between Israel and Iran, China´s response will likely be even more cautious than Russia. Here is why....

According to "www.ishitech.co.il" on the February, 2007 issue of "Israel High-Tech & Investment Report":

---Quote---
Israel-China trade climbed nearly 30% in 2006, to $3.8 billion, and is expected to reach $5 billion this year, catapulting China to the position of Israel's No. 2 trading partner, second only to the U.S...

..The Chinese are interested in more than just military hardware. As with many countries, Israel has been flooded with imports of Chinese consumer goods and textiles in recent years. But moving in the other direction, hundreds of Israeli high-tech, chemical and agricultural technology companies have seen exports to China boom.

The information about Israel being flood with Chinese consumer goods was helpful. A 30 percent increases in trade in one year is huge. Did the trade rates drop?

I haven´t checked out but most likely the trade must have rise since 2006 if one rely on the increased trend from latest years.
