Will portable jetpacks ever become a reality for folks to get around on? (Like the Segway transporter, only in the air.)

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I think that by the time we would have the technology to make a jet pack that could stabilize itself like the segway and have more than about 30 seconds worth of fuel, we will have already come up with another form of transportaion that is more efficient and faster. Here is a great article about jet packs and some of the current downfalls, plus it covers the reasons why they seem so important.
