Will perming my hair be ok if I have shingles? Does stress cause it to erupt?

The severity and duration of shingles can be significantly reduced by immediate treatment with antiviral drugs. Some common antiviral drugs used to treat shingles are acyclovir, valcyclovir, and famcyclovir. Antiviral drugs may also help stave off the painful after-effects of shingles known as postherpetic neuralgia.

I would ask your doctor and your hair stylist first. If you have having a breakout or if your skin feels sensitive at all... a perm would not be a good idea. I have a healthy scalp and was really irritated when I had my last perm (many years ago).
Yes, stress can cause a new breakout.
