Will iTunes users get cloud-based music?

Ever since iTunes bought (and closed) La La in December of 2009, rumors have cropped up indicating Apple might be looking into providing cloud-based music through iTunes. Results of a recent survey indicating the feasibility of such an effort are in the article linked below. Which is the future for iTunes, Pay per download, cloud-based, or a combination?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I don't think iTunes users will get a cloud based music in the foreseeable future, even if the internet is abuzz with rumors that Apple will offer cloud based platform of their fledgling music business. This is because Apple has a much larger plan for the future with regards to its acquisition of Lala in the sense that they have discovered a more important asset of the company that is the "personal music storage service" offered to its loyal customers.

One of the basic processes of Lala, is that they offer a software to users to place their own play list on the net and listen with it from where ever they may be together with the music they sell. This established system coupled with proper operational control reflects the real treasure of Lala as far as Apple is concerned.

"The Lala upload technology will be bundled into a future iTunes upgrade which will automatically be installed for the 100+ million itunes users with a simple “An upgrade is available…” notification dialog box. After installation iTunes will push in the background their entire media library to their personal mobile iTunes area."
