will installing vista (64-bit) drivers work on a windows 7 (64-bit) O/S?
some hardware only has vista drivers available. will installing these work with windows 7?

Some will. Be sure to make a restore point before attempting. For my notebook, 64-bit drivers were not available for my sound (neither Vista nor XP). So, had to move backward to Windows 7 32-bit (beta). With the new RC, I'll try again. More drivers have made it into the RC.
