Will I save more with satellite or cable?

How do I know if I am getting a good deal on my cable tv? How do I know if I am getting a good deal on my satellite tv? Are there any websites, forums, or blogs that offer money saving information of comparing satellite and cable tv? Where can I find coupon codes for savings on cable tv?
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Because satellite and cable program packages vary widely, it is difficult to pin down exactly which plan would be the most cost effective for you. Generally speaking, there are two ways to ensure you are getting the best deal for your money:

Local companies tend to offer better customer service. A great internet, television and phone deal isn't worth the paper it's printed on if you can't talk to a human quickly when you have a problem.

Cable companies tend to raise their rates over time. Satellite companies tend to keep their rates the same. This is partially due to the types of contracts cable companies negotiate with their media providers (Discovery, ABC etc.)

The best (and least biased) cable and satellite coupon provider I found on the internet is Cheap and Stingy Bargains.com. Here's the link: http://www.cheapstingybargains.com/cheapster/cable-satellite-tv/

Well I can tell you that I work at DISH Network and that DISH Network has the lowest all-digital prices nation wide. DISH also has twice as many choices as any other provider. You can get free standard professional installation for a six-room set up. DISH Network is #1 in Customer Satisfaction among all cable and satellite TV providers(According to the 2010 American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI)).
