Will games for the iPad be the same or more expensive than the same game for the iPhone?

I've noticed when new products come out they tend to charge more for the games than for other platforms. Is this the same for the iPad, compared to the iPhone.

If you find some examples, please list the price for both platforms and also preferably an image/video.
Tip for best answer: M$0.50
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

A number of iPad game prices have been listed, and they are a bit higher than games for the iPod Touch and iPhone. Based on the game prices currently available, they seem to average between $4.99 and $14.99, but prices could go as high as $49.99.

Take the seven HD games Gameloft announced on April 1, 2010, that will be available for the iPad for $6.99: Asphalt 5 HD, Dungeon Hunter HD, Modern Combat: Sandstorm HD, NOVA HD, NFL 2010 HD, Let's Golf HD, and Real Soccer 2010 HD. These games are all currently available for the iPhone, priced at $4.99, with the exception of NFL 2010 and Let’s Golf, which are available for $2.99 and $1.99, respectively. So, a $2 increase for a high definition version of the game is not that great of a price hike.

The app pricing is really going to come down to trial and error, and adjustments will have to be made accordingly.

This is a good question, and hard to answer. I think that due to the screen size and superior processing capabilities there are going to be a lot of pretty amazing looking games, in comparison to the iPhone/iPod Touch. With that in mind I think that, like with the iPhone, apps will be higher priced in the beginning and will eventually go down. It's really all up to the consumers, if they don't buy the $9.99 game, the company will have to drop the price until people start buying it.

I think you are going to see a lot of $9.99+ games/apps, along with the usual $.99 ones. I can definitely see the high price of iPad games and apps maybe getting as low as $4.99. I think if it's a really great game, compared to the great $.99 games on the iPhone, then people will be will the pay for the iPad exclusive App.
