Will Early Doucet's possible hernia affect his ability to play?

Hopefully but his injury has been known to sideline careers. Not because of medical reason but because it can take an eternity if you will for a football player to heal from. Without Doucet the long ball threat is in trouble but hopefully this is a minor hernia and he can move on rapidlly. Onlt itme will tell.

Early Doucet was deactivated for today's game and hasn't played since the hernia. A hernia can take a long time to recover from and if a player returns too soon, can reinjure the area and prolong healing time. The heria is basically a tear in the lower abdominal wall. Overstretching can reaggrevate the injury. In some cases, surgery is required. I remember a few years ago Donovan McNabb needed surgery and missed several weeks. Wide receiver Kevin Curtis had surgery for his and missed a few months. Being that Doucet plays receiver, I don't expect to see him back in the lineup for another few weeks at the earliest. It's best to be sure it's healed before going back out and playing and possibly jeapordizing the ret of the season.
