Will Brett Favre retire from the Minnesota Vikings? If so, do you think he will *stay* retired or remain involved in football somehow?

Rumors are circulating that Brett Favre will be retiring from the Minnesota Vikings, which would be his third "official" retirement from NFL football. - do you think this is true? If so, do you think Favre will remain retired or inevitably return to the game in some form?

I think he will stay retired until after training camp and then there will be a change of heart and a contract. It all just seems to public now.

This is most certainly what will happen. The guy doesn't like training camp.

He needs to stay retired of someone big like Ndamukong Suh is going to sack him in one game and maybe kill him if its a head to head shot. Because a 40+ year old man doesn't stand a chance against a man in his mid 20s, 300 pound of pure muscle. 40+ year old man will always lose.

Unless he is injured I expect to see him back on the field this year. The last 2 seasons he played way too well to give up that easily. Being in the league for 20 years he doesn't need the first half of training camp to get ready for the season. He knows the offense better than the coaches.

To keep him healthy I think he will come back to the team with 2 preseason games left on the schedule and only play the 1st quarter or half of the last preseason game to get ready for week 1.

He loves the game and he loves winning. As long as Favre thinks he can win he will come back.

I guess he will be retiring. I mean, he has been in the football world for several years now. However, there will always be that speculation that he may enter football again soon. That’s something we have to wait and see.

Yes he will retire but i do think he was stupid to not take the money Greenbay offered him to retire from their team.

20 years playing professional football is a long time, considering the average NFL player plays only 3 years from what I've heard and read. Of course well known star players will play longer, yet to have a 20 year football career is especially long. I don't think he will be coming back right away. Who knows, this could be a good one to see.

I think people are giving him a little too much attention. He is however one of my favorite NFL players. I think he has at least one more year left in him. The Vikings are offering him a ton of money to stay. He loves football to much to give it all up. Imagine playing the game you love most and earning bucket loads of cash. I would love to see him get a Super Bowl ring in his last year. I believe he will play this year, and I'm guessing he will just stay with the Vikings. If he does retire, I don't see him as a couch so he would return as a fan to watch a lot of games.
