Will a pro win the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event?
Over the last several years, unknown poker players have won the World Series of Poker's Main Event (Chris Moneymaker; Jamie Gold; Peter Eastgate; et cetera). Could this be the year that the pros take back the Main Event? If so, who do you think will take the bracelet? If not, how many pros do you think will make the final table, if any?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

There are so many players in the event and I would say the majority of them aren't pros. Pros only account for 5-10% of the field. Factor in their skill advantage I'd say somewhere around 15-20% chance that a pro wins.

So, do you think that a pro will hit your estimated 15-20 percent shot this year, or not?
I can't answer that question other than they have a 1 out of 5/6 chance to win it. As a betting man if I was getting better than 6-1 or so then I would take the bet because it has positive expectation.
In terms of Actual names I would look for Mike Matusow, Phil Ivey, Phil Hellmuth and even Tom Dwan to all have good series. I misread the question. I didn't know you were looking for names, so here are my names.
