Why would someone not want to switch to Ooma, a free home phone service?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

M$* High upfront cost (though with the promise of long term savings)
* Only for users in the United States
* Terrible telephone customer support
* Service dependent on the company staying in business

What VoIP system do you have and do you think it is better than Ooma?
Most people in the US will get a cable/internet/phone or satellite/internet/phone bundle from their local provider. It may not be cheaper than Ooma but the convenience of one bill will make it hard to get them to switch over unless they have a lot of connection issues.
Yea rightt. Lack of knowledge or ignorance will scare people to engage especially free services. Some of them think that when a service is free at the bottom of it, its a scam. Well, not all.
