Why would John Schnatter (Papa John) tell people not to eat too much of his pizza?

Tip for best answer: M$0.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

He was responding to a sensible question in a sensible way. It's not his new ad campaign or something.
" He was responding to a question from presenter Adam Shaw about whether he was concerned about the impact of the British government's anti-obesity drive on pizza sales."
His quite reasonable answer was:
"No. Pizza's actually healthy for you if you don't eat too much of it," Schnatter replied, adding, "You can't eat five or six slices but if you eat one or two slices it's very nutritious."

I think he said it to give the public impression that he is concerned with people's health. Customers will remember that, and when they think of going out for pizza, they will think Papa John's is healthier, and he'll get more business. Whether you eat two slices and throw the rest away, or bring it home for lunch tomorrow, you're still ordering the same size pizza.
