Why would Donald Trump make a good president of the USA?
I wanted to ask, those of you willing to express your opinions, how you would answer this question.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

1. He has a strong presence and personality. This would be beneficial in global talks, communication and speeches. I think he would at least hold his own in a political debate.
(the cons related to this might be his lack of political experience - I really need to see his knowledge in this area)
2. I pretty much see him as a conservative democrat, even though he would run with the GOP. By not being polarized in any extreme would be a bonus in this day and age of politics. (he has given quite a bit of money to the Democratic Party)
3. Maybe his business background would help the US get out of debt. He has said that we are putting too much money into foreign hands and not enough at home. He has also said that with his background in business that he would help to create jobs.
(the cons to this would also be his background in business. the presidents that had a background in business were George W. Bush and Herbert Hoover.. just sayin')
His perspective of our country is that we are currently economically weak, and that the global community is not treating us properly, or with respect. He wants to change that, but he hasn't gone into any details as to how he would change it.
I think he wants to flip the tables and make the US a great superpower of productiveness, like it was back in the 1950's. I'm not sure something like that is possible to create again since it would mean dismantling our entire import/export structure. This change would have to take place at the consumer level, with a serious lifestyle change too.
I can see both sides to having an billionaire entrepreneur running our country. He often speaks his mind which is a good thing, but politically could get him into hot water. We have let celebrities into politics before with a mix of outcomes. Who knows?
Would we have to say "Hair to the Chief"?

M$I hate to say it, but "The Donald" would probably make a good president because he is bipartisan and would definitely turn the country around.

M$But really, he has no qualifications whatsoever and would be a terrible choice for any political position. He is an example of the worst of the business world, a mere speculator.

M$You say he has "no qualifications whatsoever"
What 'qualifications' are required to make a good president?
If you believe that Trump "is an example of the worst of the business world", who would you cite as an example of the best of the business world?
The qualifications needed are numerous, and you don't need all of them. Some include:
Knowledge of how government works, especially our government, and its history.
Knowledge of the law, both regular and constitutional.
Knowledge of international relations and negotiations and diplomacy.
Skill at negotiating both with domestic legislators and foreign leaders
Oratorical and writing skills to persuade the largest audiences, both domestic and foreign.
As far as I know, Trump has none of this whatsoever. He is a speculator and a rude "boss" type businessman who shouldn't be elected dogcatcher of even the smallest village.
I do not think a businessman would make a good president. If you look at the pre-political professions of our past presidents you will see that none of them have been (unless you count Bush 2, who was not a real businessman and was a lousy president).
But, the good sort of businessman, whether or not they would make a good president, are those who create businesses that do great service to the public and civilization in general. Two current ones are Bill Gates and perhaps Mark Zuckerberg.
It is time for selfless, honest, hard working Americans to step-up into leadership roles. And then step-out when their term is up. America does not need proffesional politicans, we need patriots who are moral and dedicated to the country, not the buck. Trump is a money hungry, power hungry baffoon!

Maybe the rest of us but I'm pretty sure you would have to say "Hare to the Chief!"
