ABBA made no official announcement about the end of the group but the group has long been considered dissolved. Their last public performance together as ABBA was during the British programme The Late, Late Breakfast Show which is live from Stockholm on December 11, 1982.
Agnetha started recording sessions for a solo album in January 1983 while Frida had successfully released her album "Something's Goin On" earlier. While Bjorn and Benny started writing songs for the musical Chess, and ABBA was shelved.
The foursome did not come together publicly but all four members were reunited at the Swedish premier of Mamma Mia on July 4, 2008. They confirmed that they will never be performing again as a group and money is not a factor in the breakup. They would like the people to remember them as the young, exuberant, full of energy and ambition singers.
