Why was Oprah chosen as the narrator for the Life series and not David Addenborough? Who would have been a better narrator?
Planet Earth, the previous series that shook the nature film world was hosted by David Attenborough. This past weekend was the series finale of the Discovery Channel's "Life" nature series. Oprah Winfrey was chosen as the series' narrator. Why was Oprah chosen for this project?

Much as we may all appreciate the work of David Attenborough, the simple fact is that Oprah Winfrey will bring a larger audience than him. Therefore, the answer to your direct question is: Money to be earned.
