Why to humans skin colours change in the sun?

When you're exposed to UV light (from the sun), your skin accelerates its production of melanin. Melanin is the dark pigment in the epidermis that gives your skin its normal color. The extra melanin, produced to protect the skin's deeper layers, creates the darker color of a "tan."

It's obviously because of a chemical reaction between sunlight and the melanin.Human skin color can range from almost black (due to very high concentrations of the dark brown pigment melanin) to nearly colorless (appearing reddish white due to the blood vessels under the skin) in different people. Skin color is determined by the amount and type of melanin, the pigment in the skin.It,s generally of two type pheomelanin (red) and eumelanin (very dark brown).
