It was always known that putting too much makeup isn’t good for the skin but with mineral makeup, some said that you can even sleep with it (although it's much better to sleep with clean face of course). Typical makeup blocks pores making it heavy on the skin and clogging them which later results to pimples, blemishes, etc. Mineral makeup doesn’t do this. I don't think mineral makeup is a fad. Several different big and small name companies manufacture it now. It has already been around for over a decade; it's popularity grows a little more every year.
Mineral makeup foundation will look more natural on your face as it's generally made of finer grains of pigment than most makeups. However, there are companies that make mineral eye shadows that look just as vibrant as the mainstream synthetic products do! Alongside the more subdued and matte shades, there are eye shadows that contain mica, causing them to shimmer and reflect the light.
