Why is the voting system used by Mahalo so broken???

Votes go uncounted.

Payments don't match questions with "best answer".

Spammy questions in wrong sections with little or no value.

Support doesn't reply to questions or emails.
WYSIWYG / bbcode is janky and way to limited.

Mahalo.... WTF???
Tip for best answer: M$0.50
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I suspect that your level of support may be highly dependent on your belt color. Just a thought.

@doubleminaz
"No Best Answer Selected, Tip Refunded
1 answerers thought this was unfair."

I didn't select a best answer as you didn't actually answer.
You asked another question and stated the obvious -_-

Even you said their support is only online during "only during business hours", so why totally ignore the support emails?
I live in the UK and don't have time to wait around for someone to become active in their IRC room.

Why provide a contact email if you just ignore it?
More and more I run into dead or ignored email addresses...
It's just ANNOYING.
If you don't want to provide email support, DONT.

I'll repeat, just for the Google Juice....
Well done Mahalo. Another web2.0 fail.

Abe, it looks like your observations go beyond the title question you asked. (The title is what got me to open it up, because I am asking a related question.) You raise some good points.

I'm not sure how much Mahalo could/should actually do about the "spammy questions in wrong sections". I've noticed that my "best answer" notifications don't always get the tip amount right, but have never tried to point out specifics to the developers. I'm about 50-50 on getting responses from "Support" and have occasionally received better responses from talking to specific staff members.

I'm not sure about your last one - though I have been occasionally frustrated with the page-editing capabilities.

It sounds like you have probably sent specific e-mails about these. But, can I ask you a favor on behalf of the entire community? Could you please go to the IRC (www.mibbit.com ) chat facility and make sure you get a live real-time response from staff - even if it is a promise to get back to you on the specifics?

Thanks--mm

Lucky for you.
I've not had a reply from support. Ever.

Mahalo pays for content creation. Should it not moderate it?

So I should use IRC when they have a contact form?
And this magical IRC chatroom is listed or described where?
The IRC chatroom with one, AFK, user?

It seems more and more companies expect users have some awesome telepathic skills when it comes to support.

Well done Mahalo. Another web 2.0 fail -_-

Abe, you are absolutely correct in pointing out that "support" needs to be more supportive. The IRC/"live chat" is only good when they are there - which is still only during business hours.

Mahalo DOES moderate a lot of created content. They do not moderate all of it, and I do not think that they should; too tempting to cross the line into censorship.
